What Makes a Successful Startup Team?
In this article, HBR goes through different data in order to determine what really makes a successful startup team.
Among the findings are:
1) Data shows us that 60% of new ventures fail due to problems with the team.
2) Shared entrepreneurial passion and shared strategic vision are required to get to superior team performance as rated by the external venture capital investors.
3) Greater team experience only leads to better performance if team members share a strategic vision for the company.
Bottom line is that a great team only exists if there is a shared vision. A compilation of members with strong experience is always important but never sufficient.
