"The deck is to get the meeting."
In a comment to a Fred Wilson post, early-stage VC Semil Shah declared:
“The deck is to get the meeting.”
He goes on to precise that you use two different decks: one to get the meeting, another one when you meet investors.
We copied his comment here, which has disappeared from avc.com since.
We discuss this point in detail in our online course “VC Pitch Deck – Introduction.”.
What do you think about this strategy? Should you have two decks? Or do you use the same deck before and at the first meeting with VCs?
